WHAT YOU SEE WILL DETERMINE YOUR EXPANSION (Gen. 13:14-18)

WHAT YOU SEE WILL DETERMINE YOUR EXPANSION (Gen. 13:14-18)
And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are — northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you." Then Abram moved his tent, and went and dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord.
The size of the land that the architect sees will determine the size of the building he would design. It is not possible to have a very big building on a small piece of land. I was in a town in the middle belt of Nigeria, and all that I saw as I entered the town was that the town was surrounded by hills and that explained the reason why there were only two roads that lead to the town. Till now there are only those two roads, even at this age of high technology, more roads could not be constructed. When I saw this, I said that it will be extremely difficult for the people of the town to expand; they were helmed in by hills to an extent that they have been building on the hills which has not been very easy for the owners to get to the houses. A servant of God who hailed from the town told me one day that there is a law of restriction operating in the life of the children of the place where ever they may be. He concluded that they will need deliverance for anyone to expand in every area of their lives.
There are two basic things that we need to note from our text this morning, one is the fact that for one to expand or be fully blessed the first thing is to see things around and be able to determine which level he or she wants to get to. As Christians we can see with both our naked and spiritual eyes i.e. the inner mind. There is a limit to what the physical eye can see unlike the spiritual one that can see beyond where one has ever being to in life. Today we can see that Abraham’s children are all over the entire world, then he must have seen with his spiritual eye when he was commanded to take a look at the land God was going to give him and his children. Had it been that he used the naked eye he would have been restricted to a certain part of the world. As Christians, we have been given the grace to expand as much as we determine to. It all depends on what the individual can see, if you see a small place, you will have small but if your own vision could catch a very big thing, you will have it. So the level of your expansion depends largely on your vision, your perception and your ability to see beyond the immediate. The second thing worthy of note is that after seeing a thing, we must take a step to achieving it i.e. we need to take a walk. Though God had promised to bless you and expand you, you cannot afford to stay in one place and expect manna to fall from heaven. God promised Abraham but he had to take a walk, he started moving about from one place to the other. He even fought wars and went through series of challenges before he could be what God said he would be. In other word, as Christians we must not be the lazy type who is not ready to accept responsibility. Do your own part and let God fulfill His promises. Remain blessed in the Lord.

LET LOT LEAVE (Gen. 13:14-18) by PASTOR R.O.Ogunkunle

LET LOT LEAVE (Gen. 13:14-18)  The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."  So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the Lord.  Lot in the literal sense means “conceal, veil or covering.” It follows therefore that when you have a ‘Lot’ with you or in your company, your glory may not shine because there is a covering already. It was Abram that God called to leave his people for another place and not Lot. For sympathy or love for family member, he decided to allow Lot to follow him. Little by little Lot was covering the glory of God in his l

DELAY IS DANGEROUS

DELAY IS DANGEROUS (Gen. 19: 15-17) With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished." When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!" The Lord has instructed us that we should hold on to the Rock of Ages for there would be trouble in the world this month. One may then ask when we need to do that. The time is now because delay is dangerous. As we could see from the above passage, Lot’s wife looked back though they have been instructed not to and she perished. Not that she just looked but while others were going forward holding on to the Rock of

The 7 Characteristics Of An Eagle And Why They Are Lessons For Good Leadership

1. Eagles Have Vision If you ever happen to see an eagle sitting high above the tree or cliff of a stiff mountain, watch closely and see how attentive the bird is. The body sits still and the head will be tilted side to side to observed what is happening below, around and above it. Even if its flying close by, you can observe how keen its eyes are looking for its prey. Eagles have a keen vision. Their eyes are specially designed for long distance focus and clarity. They can spot another eagle soaring from 50 miles away. Does this characteristic ring a bell in your mind? I am sure it does. Look at great leaders of this world who have come and gone. There are many great leaders that came and went but one characteristic that is common in all is "Vision". Vision is a successful leadership characteristic Take Abraham Lincoln for example. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, guided his country through the most devastating experience in its national h
