GO AFTER YOUR DREAM (Gen. 26: 1-4, 12- 14)

Now there was a famine in the land — besides the earlier famine of Abraham's time — and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, "Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed.
Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.
Brethren, we welcome you to this week discussion, we pray that the Lord God Almighty will grant us our heart’s desires in Jesus’ name. We have talked about understanding God and last week we talked about what you see. By divine direction we shall be looking at this topic, ‘go after your dream’ i.e. go and possess what you have seen. Ask that God the giver of all good things will bring His promises to fulfillment in your life and at the appropriate time. One thing is to have a dream/desire but it is another thing entirely to pursue it till it becomes yours. There is no sense in the knowledge gained that is not put to use.
We saw that Isaac was rich even before the event described in our text this morning yet he was not satisfied with what he had and continued to gain more. We could see that God just informed him to stay in the land shown to him; God did not tell him what he should do to expand and have more blessings. It was the decision of Isaac to go into farming in addition to being a shepherd. Isaac was only informed that God will help him. Isaac did not fold his arms in passivism because of the promise of God he had received. He i.e. Isaac understood God and he also had seen well, then he followed his dream to manifestation.
Let me tell you a story of two friends, one was blind and the other one was a lame man. They were pursuing the business of begging and they had a common purse. The lame man even built a nice house for himself from what they made from begging and the blind one did not know. One day the lame man suggested that they should just commit suicide and go for everlasting rest with the Lord. The blind man agreed to it since he was made to believe that their business was not fetching them much. They came to agreement that they were going to jump into a very deep river. Before they got to the river, the lame man had placed a very big stone at the bank of the river. When it was time for them to jump into the river, the lame man asked the blind to allow him jump first and that as soon as he heard the sound he i.e. the blind should just know that he had gone. When he threw the stone, the blind heard the sound thinking that his friend had gone; he also said he was going to do likewise. But a thought came to his mind that he was going to leave a mark behind that people would get to know that two great friends has departed the world. So he decided he was going to beat whatever was around him with his staff. As God would have it, the staff of the blind man hit the lame man and he started shouting for help. Immediately the blind regained his sight and continue to hit the lame man till he started begging his friend. If the blind had just followed blindly, the lame man would have ended his life just like that.
Christians, don’t just keep quiet and watch the devil cheat you or rob you of your blessing. Do something to make the promise of God come to pass in your life. Don’t be lazy, ask God to inspire you what you must do to expand your horizon and do great exploit in the year. Remain blessed in the Lord.

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL REJOICE (Ps.64:1-10)

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL REJOICE (Ps.64:1-10)   Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.  Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from that noisy crowd of evildoers.  They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows. They shoot from ambush at the innocent man; they shoot at him suddenly, without fear. They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, “Who will see them?"  They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning. But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. All mankind will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done. Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; let all the upright in heart praise him! ...
