RECITE THE RIGHTEOUS ACTS OF GOD (Judges 5: 1-12)

RECITE THE RIGHTEOUS ACTS OF GOD (Judges 5: 1-12)
… When they chose new gods, war came to the city gates, and not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Israel.  My heart is with Israel's princes, with the willing volunteers among the people. Praise the Lord!  "You who ride on white donkeys, sitting on your saddle blankets, and you who walk along the road, consider the voice of the singers at the watering places. They recite the righteous acts of the Lord, the righteous acts of his warriors in Israel. "Then the people of the Lord went down to the city gates.  'Wake up, wake up, Deborah! Wake up, wake up, break out in song! Arise, O Barak! Take captive your captives, O son of Abinoam.'

The Lord God Almighty chose the nation Israel as His special people, they were redeemed, and we could even say that they were born-again. The first step to benefiting from God is to be born- again. When one is born-again, such has become a special person in the sight of God. As beloved children of God, we have a sure way of making God to fight on our behalf. God can do anything to protect His children. When things are getting difficult, we can cry to God for help. It is not all the time that we shall be passing our requests to him as if we are dealing with humans. We can begin by reciting all the good things He had done in the past either for us directly or for others. It could be in our contemporary time or as found in the bible. Mentioning all the good things He did in the past will prove that we have a strong belief in Him that there is nothing He cannot do. It is noted in our passage today that gender does not debar anyone from getting whatever from God. We could see that Daborah was a woman and God listen to her and used her for the freedom of His special people when there was no man to take the lead. The fact that you are a woman does not make you a good for nothing; God can still use you if you are found worthy.
For all the help and victories the Israelites have been getting from God, what could they give to God? If not to mention them in the hearing of others so that they can believe and worship the only God who can save them from any calamity that may befall them. You as a child of God, for all the good things you have been enjoying from God, what do you think you have that you can pay back to God? Do you know that your testimony can bring others to the saving knowledge of God? Your testimony can bring healing to many if only you can narrate them as you have enjoyed them.
One may be tempted to ask why there was a problem for the special people of God. It was because they chose to worship another god apart from God who promised to always be with them (v.8). The fact that you are a child of God does not mean that you can do anything you like outside God. God wants us to be dependent on Him in all things. He has promised He will not fail us (Num.23:19; Is. 14:24). If anyone is interested in winning all his/her battles, then such should learn to praise God always for what He had done in the past. This does not exclude anyone, everyone is to be involved. According to verses 10 and 11, Deborah and Barak summoned the wealthy nobles ("those who ride on white asses") and the common travelers to join the singers at the wells and praise the Lord for what He did to Jabin's army. Now it was safe to walk the roads, gather at the wells, and leisurely talk together. The people could leave the walled cities where they had run for protection and could return to their villages in peace. It was time for all Israel to praise God for His mercies to them. This praise stanza closes with a call to action (v. 12). God commanded Deborah to wake up and sing and Barak to wake up and attack the enemy. Remember that in 2Chr. 20 Jehoshaphat and his people sang to God and God fought on their behalf. Praise God always by reciting all the righteous acts did in the past and you will always rejoice in Him. Remain blessed in the Lord.

LET LOT LEAVE (Gen. 13:14-18) by PASTOR R.O.Ogunkunle

LET LOT LEAVE (Gen. 13:14-18)  The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."  So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the Lord.  Lot in the literal sense means “conceal, veil or covering.” It follows therefore that when you have a ‘Lot’ with you or in your company, your glory may not shine because there is a covering already. It was Abram that God called to leave his people for another place and not Lot. For sympathy or love for family member, he decided to allow Lot to follow him. Little by little Lot was covering the glory of God in his l

DELAY IS DANGEROUS

DELAY IS DANGEROUS (Gen. 19: 15-17) With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished." When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!" The Lord has instructed us that we should hold on to the Rock of Ages for there would be trouble in the world this month. One may then ask when we need to do that. The time is now because delay is dangerous. As we could see from the above passage, Lot’s wife looked back though they have been instructed not to and she perished. Not that she just looked but while others were going forward holding on to the Rock of

The 7 Characteristics Of An Eagle And Why They Are Lessons For Good Leadership

1. Eagles Have Vision If you ever happen to see an eagle sitting high above the tree or cliff of a stiff mountain, watch closely and see how attentive the bird is. The body sits still and the head will be tilted side to side to observed what is happening below, around and above it. Even if its flying close by, you can observe how keen its eyes are looking for its prey. Eagles have a keen vision. Their eyes are specially designed for long distance focus and clarity. They can spot another eagle soaring from 50 miles away. Does this characteristic ring a bell in your mind? I am sure it does. Look at great leaders of this world who have come and gone. There are many great leaders that came and went but one characteristic that is common in all is "Vision". Vision is a successful leadership characteristic Take Abraham Lincoln for example. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, guided his country through the most devastating experience in its national h
